The U.S. Congress has ordered changes to the dates of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Devices that are powered by the Microsoft® Windows Mobile® version 5.0 software, or Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs (“Windows Mobile-based software”) require an update to correctly adjust the time. This update is provided free of charge from Microsoft.

In a Trimble® GeoExplorer® 2005 series handheld, you may notice the following symptoms; applications run slower over time and eventually cause the handheld to lock up; applications take longer to load than on a GeoExplorer handheld that is running the Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 2003 software for Pocket PCs; after a reset, the handheld may temporarily become unusable when you open the Start menu, the Programs directory, or File Explorer. Although they appear to be related, these are all separate issues. This support notes describes the issues and how to solve them.
COM Port Error Message

On a Trimble® GeoExplorer® 2005 series handheld, when you try to connect to the GPS receiver from an application such as the Trimble TerraSync™ software, you may receive the error message "Failed to connect to the GPS receiver because the COM port is in use by another application" even though there is no other application using the COM port. This Support Note describes the issue and how to prevent it from occurring.
