New Features
- Support for the Trimble Yuma rugged tablet computer.
- Support for the Trimble GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver running firmware version 3.72.
- Support for the Trimble R8 Model II receiver running firmware version 3.64. (Later versions are not currently supported.)
- Support for software activation on field computers powered by the Windows Mobile version 5.0 software or version 6 operating system. For more information, refer to the TerraSync Software Getting Started Guide.
- Support for the Indian GAGAN satellites. The frequencies used by the Indian GAGAN SBAS system have been added to the SBAS.ini file; you can now manually select these frequencies for use with receivers that support them.
- Proper handling of waypoints stored in USNG (NAD83) coordinates. (USNG (NAD27) is not supported.)
- Support for OmniSTAR frequencies that have 500 Hz offsets.
- The heading display for SiRF-based receivers now correctly displays headings between 326 and 359 degrees.
- A bug that caused the TerraSync software to export features with no attribute data to ESRI ShapeFile format has been corrected.

Download this executable to upgrade your GeoExplorer 2008 series handheld to GPS firmware version 2.03.
Features:
- Improved handling of CMR+ corrections.
- Version 2.03 GPS firmware addresses issues in the GeoExplorer 2008 series receiver with the handling of CMR+ corrections for real-time sub foot accuracy with a GeoXH handheld, or DGPS level accuracy with GeoXT and GeoXM handhelds.
- The version 2.03 GPS firmware contains changes for using Japan’s MSAS (SBAS) corrections, including a revised zone where MSAS can be used.
GPS Pathfinder® ProXRT
WinFlash Utility for v3.72 GPS Firmware

This download includes the v3.72 firmware and the Winflash software. The Winflash software is used to install the firmware and activate receiver options (including the GLONASS option) on the GPS Pathfinder ProXRT. To install the new firmware version, see the Release Notes for instructions.
The following changes were made in the 3.72 firmware version:
- Resolved OmniSTAR issues, including OmniSTAR tracking problem at 600bps and adjacent channel 5KHz away.
- Applied OmniSTAR AOREH Frequency change.
- Fixed CMR type 4 support with PRN 32.
- Fixed issue with PDOP calculation under difficult environment (canopy). Positions with bad PDOP will not be used.
- Fixed causes for rare crashes of receiver firmware with specific configurations.
Entitlement
- The new 3.72 firmware version is free of charge to all existing ProXRT customers. Trimble recommends that all customers with entitlement to the field software versions listed below should upgrade their receivers to the new firmware.
WARNING: If you upgrade to this version of firmware you will be required to use:
- Trimble TerraSync software version 4.00 or later
- Trimble GPScorrect extension for ESRI ArcPad software version 3.00 or later
- Trimble GPS Controller software version 2.22 or later
- Third-party software based on the Trimble GPS Pathfinder Tools SDK version 2.33.
Failing this, you will not be able to connect to this GPS receiver. Once this firmware has been uploaded onto your device you will not be able to revert to a previous version.

There is a problem with the installer originally released with the Trimble TerraSync software version 3.00. This problem prevents installation of the TerraSync software from a computer running the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system to a device powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile version 5.0 software. An updated installer which fixes this problem is now available for download.

GeoExplorer 2008 Series and Trimble Nomad Handhelds - Incorrectly Applied Screen Protectors May Stop Handheld From Responding To Screen Taps

The Trimble GeoExplorer 2008 series handhelds and the Trimble Nomad series of handheld computers are supplied with screen protectors that you should apply to the handheld to protect the screen from scratches. If you apply the screen protector incorrectly, your handheld may not respond to screen taps. This Support Note describes how to apply the screen protector to avoid this problem.
Trimble GPS Receivers: Status Update for WAAS Satellites

This document provides an update on the status of the WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) satellites, including the FAA’s expected timeline for the second new WAAS satellite (PRN 138) to be set as operational, and for the older WAAS satellites (PRNs 122 and 134) to be decommissioned. This document describes the Trimble GPS receivers that are able to use the new WAAS satellites, and describes how to install a new SBAS.ini file and configure your GPS receiver to use the new WAAS satellites.
